UNICAL SUG Meets with Federal Lawmaker to Discuss Student Welfare

The Student Union Government (SUG) President of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Comrade Blessing Alims, has  met with Honorable Peter Akpanke, the Federal House of Representative member representing Cross River State, to discuss issues affecting students in the state.

The meeting, which took place at Honorable Akpanke’s office in Abuja, Cynthia disclosed, is aimed at strengthening the  ties between the university’s student body and the federal government.

It reads in part“The visit, which took place at Hon. Peter Akpanke’s office was aimed at fostering a stronger relationship between the university’s student body and the federal government, as well as to discuss issues affecting students in the state.

“Comr. Blessing Alims, expressed her gratitude to Hon. Peter Akpanke for his unwavering support for the students of UNICAL and his commitment to youth development in Cross River State.

“Hon. Peter Akpanke, in his response, commended Comr. Blessing Alims for her leadership and dedication to the welfare of UNICAL students. He assured her of his continued support and promised to work closely with the SUG to address the challenges facing students in the state.“

“The visit also provided an opportunity for Comr. Blessing Alims to brief Hon. Peter Akpanke on the current state of affairs in UNICAL, including the challenges faced by students and the efforts of the SUG to address them.”
