Residents of Calabar, Cross River State, have begun to experience the effect of the national strikes action planned by the organized labor, and starting Monday, June 3, 2024.
StreetNews reports that fuel stations, schools and banks within Calabar metropolis have been shutdown on Monday morning, leaving commercial motorists and residents stranded.
Photos show bank customers flooding the entrance of banking offices while entry is denied. Students also returned from schools this morning due to the national strike action. Motorists and customers are reportedly unable to buy petrol nor diesel due to the shutdown.
Other places that have been shutdown include public schools, government offices and parastatals.
