A man was arrested in Barcelona after allegedly attempting to steal a jewellery box belonging to Nigerian singer BNXN.
The incident was reported to have occurred while BNXN was in Spain for a music engagement.
Adesope Olajide, a UK-based Nigerian media personality, shared a video on Monday showing the moment the man was apprehended for the attempted theft.
The singer’s security team reportedly noticed the man trying to make off with the jewellery box and quickly intervened, detaining him until police arrived.
In the video, a voice could be heard saying, “Crazy guy. Take him inside.”
Olajide also stressed the importance of security personnel and management teams for celebrities.
BNXN, whose real name is Daniel Benson, has been a rising star in the Nigerian music scene.
He gained widespread recognition with his first extended play, ‘Sorry I’m Late,’ released in 2021, and his follow-up EP, ‘Bad Since ’97,’ in 2022.
BNXN’s accomplishments include winning the ‘Next Rated’ award at the 15th edition of The Headies in 2022.’
