A recent tweet by the late American Conservative Activist and Founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, (@charliekirk11) has sparked controversy and concern over the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Another from Spencer Hakimian with a a quote from Bill Maher states “I’m not a Christian, but they are systematically killing the Christians in Nigeria. They’ve killed over 100,000.

The tweet from Charlie claims that 125,000 Christians have been murdered and 19,000 churches destroyed by Muslims in Nigeria over the last 15 years.

Open Doors estimates that thousands of churches have been destroyed or attacked in Nigeria, leaving many Christians without a place to worship.

The tweet by Charlie Kirk shows the perceived lack of attention given to the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, with many arguing that the international community is not doing enough to address the issue.

While the exact numbers cited in the tweet may be difficult to verify, the persecution of Christians in Nigeria is a serious and ongoing concern. Reliable sources, including the ICC and Open Doors, have documented numerous cases of violence and persecution against Christians in Nigeria.
