The National  Youth Service Corp (NYSC), has ordered the immediate suspension of weekly Community Development Service (CDS), and the monthly Local Government Biometric Verification Exercise, over the planned hunger Protest.

This was contained in an internal memo sent by the NYSC directorate  directed to State Coordinators  through the various Local Government and Zonal Inspectors, seen by Street news.

 “In furtherance to our earlier memo reminding corps members of the scheme’s policy prohibiting participation in any form of protest, all corps members are informed that biometric clearance and CDS activities are suspended with immediate effect. The date for the presumption of these activities will be communicated in due course.

“Due to this postponement of all NYSC activities, all corps members are directed not to wear their uniforms for any reason this week.

“During this period, all corps members are assured that they will be attended to in their mufti.”-The memo reads.

In a Whatapp message sent to our Our Correspondent it reads “Please be informed that the Director General has instructed that ;

“Throughout this week,  no corps member should  wear NYSC uniform. No  corp member  should participate in any form of protest.

“Biometric Verification Exercise (BVE) and CDS activities are suspended with immediate effect, date for the resumption of these activities will be communicated  in due course.”.
