Nigeria Deploys 157 Soldiers To South Sudan

The soldiers who are going to Abyei in South Sudan, were warned not to tarnish Nigeria’s image by engaging in bad acts such as sexual exploitation and drug trafficking.

The Nigerian Army is deploying 157 soldiers to Sudan on a peacekeeping mission.

The Army authorities however warned the soldiers who just completed their pre-deployment training to be good ambassadors of their country.

Handling out the warning was Nigerian Army’s Chief of Operation, Maj.-Gen. Boniface Sinjen, who was addressing the troops at the graduation ceremony from their pre-deployment training at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre (MLAILPKC) at Jaji in Kaduna State.

The troops are of the Nigerian Company 2 to the United Nations Interim Security Force in Abyei (NIGCOY 2 UNISFA) and they consist of 15 officers and 142 soldiers.
