Early this week, Streetnews reported that a landlord had removed the roof of the house of a young mother who could not renew her rent. Today, the story has changed. The woman, simply called Akan, has been moved into a new home.
Yenne, an Uyo based influence who raised alarm of the situation, started raising funds to get another house for the woman. People started making donations towards getting her a new house.
Photos of the new house have since emerged online.
Yenne took it to his social media page to narrate the developing story.
โToday, we paid a one year rent for the widow whose landlord removed her roofs to forcefully eject her out of his house because of her inability to renew her rent.
โAs you read this, she is moving into this new home with her children, away from the rain and cold.
โI want to specially appreciate one of my followers who donated a major chunk of the money and others who supported,โ he said.
