In a heartwarming of Governor Seyi Makinde’s heart, security guards at Ladoke Akintola University of Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH) are now smiling all the way to the bank after a whopping 426% salary increase. Their monthly pay has jumped from N18,800 to N80,000, effective October 1, 2025.

The Oyo State governor’s decision was prompted by an emotional plea from one of the guards, who broke down in tears during an interactive session, explaining how they struggle to make ends meet with their meager pay. The guard, who has a family of four, couldn’t take it anymore and cried out for help.
