Four suspected electric cable vandals have been arrested by the Cross River State Police Command.

The suspects who allegedly specialised in vandalising and stealing electric cables in the state, were arrested at Number 38 Edgerton Street Calabar, by the team of policemen attached to state Government House.

The state Police Public Relations Officer SP Ugbo Irene in a Press Release  said on Sunday 5th August, about 3 suspects were also arrested by Operation Sting in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, with 12 pieces of zinc property belonging to a government secondary School.

“On 04/8/2024 at about 2335hrs, the command arrested one suspect for vandalism/stealing, name David Enere ‘m’ of No.38 Edgerton Street Calabar, age 30yrs.

” The suspect was arrested by the team of policemen attached to Government House Calabar, while vandalizing electric underground armored cable along the Cross River State Deputy Governor’s Lodge Calabar.

” In a similar development on 4/8/2024 at about 1700hrs, three (3) suspects were arrested by Operation Sting with twelve (12) pieces of zinc property  of government secondary school Akansoko community in Akpabuyo Local Government area.”
