The Akwa Ibom State Government has directed that all national and state flags be flown at half-mast in honour of the former late Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari.
This directive, issued by Governor Umo Eno, is in line with the Federal Government’s instruction mandating nationwide mourning for the departed former Nigerian leader.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah, yesterday noted that the order takes immediate effect across the state.
“All government institutions, schools, and public and private establishments are hereby enjoined to comply with this directive without delay,” the statement read.
The late President Buhari, who served two terms in office from 2015 to 2023, passed away on Sunday.
