Member representing Bakassi State Constituency, Hon. Eyo Bassey, has congratulated Senator Florence Ita for Giwa (OON) on her recent appointment by President Bola Tinubu.

On June 14, President Bola Tinubu approved the reconstitution of Governing Councils and Boards of federal universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.

In a statement by the Permanent Secretary, General Services, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Nnamdi Mbaeri, noted that the approval was given for the effective management of Nigerian tertiary institutions across the country.

Amongst the list was Senator Florence Ita Giwa who was appointed as Chairperson of the Governing Board of Federal Polytechnic, Ugep, Cross River State.

Eyo, in his congratulatory message, recognized her as the political leader of the Bakassi people adding that Ita Giwa’s appointment will bring more opportunities for her to support the course of good governance she has been advocating for.

“Your new role as Chair, Federal Polytechnic, Ugep, will provide further opportunities to continue in your support for good governance.”

He further appreciated the role of the State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, in the said appointment.

He prayed God to grant her wisdom in her new official role. “As you chair the affairs of your assigned institution, may God grant you the wisdom and grace to record uncommon feats,” he concluded.
