The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the appointment of his Royal Majesty Ovai (Elder) Solomon Osim Edward JP, as Chairman, State council of chiefs.
This is coming days after the state government had ordered the dissolutions of the state council of chiefs, following the expirations of their tenures.
In a press release issued on Friday, by the secretary to the State Government, Prof Anthony Owan Enoh, titled “Appointment Of Chairman, State Council Of Chiefs”, made available to news men, Prof Anthony noted that the appointment is for a term of two years.
“His Excellency, the Governor, senator (Prince ( Bassey Edey Otu, in exercise of the power vested in him by section 3 of the council of Chief’s Law, cap C15 laws of Cross River State 2004 has approved the appointment of
his Royal Majesty Ovai (Elder) Solomon Osim Edward JP, Paramount ruler of Abi Local Government Area as Chairman, State council of chiefs.
“The appointment of his Royal Majesty Ovai Osim Edward is for a term of 2 years effective from 21th June, 2024.”- It reads.
