The Cross River State Government has ordered a reinforcement on the ban placed on commercial bikes within designated routes in the state.
In a public service announcement, made available to news on Tuesday by Major General U. G. Obono (rtd) the State security adviser, tittled “Ban On Commercial Motorcycles” he noted, that the ban is aimed at sustaining the peace currently enjoyed in the state as well as ensuring maximum security of life.
“In an effort to sustain the peace currently enjoyed in the state and in order to ensure maximum security of life and properties, the general public is hereby reminded that the ban on commercial motorcycles and tricycles on major routes without the state capital is still in force.
“Operations are advised to strictly obey government directives by avoiding the restricted routes and limiting themselves to designated areas.
For the avoidance of doubt, commercial motorcycles and tricycles are not accepted along the following routes:
- M/M Highway
- Marian road
- IBB way
- Eta Agbor
- Atimbo
- Diamond
- Mary Slessor
- 8 miles up to Tinapa junction
- Mariam hill
- Moore road
- barracks road
- MCC road
- Akai Efa
- Parliamentary road up to Extension
- Ikot Ishie / Ikot Ansa
- Federal housing / State housing
“Please note that tricycles and motorcycles seen violating this directive will be apprehended and offenders made to face the full wrath of the law.”- It reads
