The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State, Emmanuel Ironbar, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for Governor Bassey Otu and the current administration, pledging to serve with humility, integrity, and faith in God.
Ironbar made the declaration during a thanksgiving service held in honour of his elder brother, Archibong Ironbar, who recently retired from the state civil service. The event, which took place on Sunday at Mount Zion Light House Church in Calabar, was attended by top government functionaries, clergy, and community leaders.
Among those present were Dr. Godwin Agbor, Chairman of the Obudu Health Anti-Quackery Committee and Medical Director of Omega Hospital, Boki; the Chairman of Calabar South Local Government Area; and other dignitaries.
In his remarks, Ironbar thanked Governor Bassey Otu for entrusting him with the role of Chief of Staff, describing the Governor as a visionary and God-fearing leader committed to the development of Cross River State.
“I remain grateful to His Excellency, Governor Bassey Otu, for his trust in me. I consider it a privilege to serve under a man of vision and humility,” Ironbar said. “I will not use this office to intimidate or oppress anyone. I am here to serve the people and support the Governor’s people-first agenda.”
Reflecting on challenges he faced prior to his appointment, Ironbar said he is focused on adding value and contributing to the success of the administration, noting that leadership is a calling guided by divine purpose.
In a show of gratitude to God, the Chief of Staff donated to Mount Zion Light House Church during the service, a gesture that drew applause from the congregation and clergy.
The celebrant, Archibong Ironbar, expressed appreciation to God for a fulfilling civil service career and thanked his family, colleagues, and well-wishers for their support.
The thanksgiving was filled with songs of praise, testimonies, and goodwill messages from various dignitaries and members of the church.
