Nigerian Universities Lecturers Down Tools as ASUU Strike Begins

The Cross River State Government says there will be sanitation exercise across the state on Saturday 31st August, 2024.

The state government said there will be restriction of vehicular and human movement during the exercise.

In a statement on Wednesday, Moses Osogi, commissioner for environment, encouraged residents to participate in the exercise.

Osogi said the exercise would be held between 7 am to 10 am.

The commissioner added that those who disregarded the directives would be prosecuted by the state government.

“The general public is hereby informed that the statewide environmental sanitation exercise for the month of August  2024 will hold on Saturday, 31st August, 2024.

“Consequently, business owners and residents are urged to partake in the cleaning and evacuation of waste around their surroundings during the Sanitation period.

“Restrictions of human and vehicular movement begin from 7:00am to 10.am except for those on essential duties.

“Note that defaulters would be prosecuted by the Cross River State Government”.
