C’River Speaker Dissolves House Committees, Commends Colleagues

The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem has appreciated Members of the State Assembly for their support in the first one year anniversary of the 10th Assembly.

Ayambem who was speaking during plenary said that the Legislators have given him the needed cooperation which has contributed to the successes recorded by the 10th Assembly in the past one year.

The Speaker also expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for preserving the lives of all the Members and staff of the Assembly and sued for more cooperation and support to enable the House to achieve its goals.
‘”I thank you for turning up for plenary today, despite the short notice, to give the needed support. I also thank God for taking us all to the end of our first year in office. Whatever happened is in the past, we have to come together as a team and work towards improving the lives of our citizens. The interest of the House supersedes personal interest”. He stated.

Speaker Ayambem announced the dissolution of all House committees except the Committee on Lands which currently has an ongoing assignment.

Referring to the ongoing renovation work at the Assembly’s Complex, the Speaker promised to provide a conducive environment as well as improve the esthetics of the Assembly Complex also rejig power supply for the comfort and effectiveness of the Members.

He commended the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu for the great achievements recorded in his one year in office and expressed confidence that the past glory of the State will be restored.
