 The Cross River State Police Command has launched an immediate and thorough investigation into a disturbing viral video showing a girl, identified as Miss Queen, being physically assaulted by a group of girls in a hotel room.

The video, which has sparked widespread outrage on social media, depicts Miss Queen being flogged while half-naked in the hotel room.

In a press release issued by  the Police Public Relations Officer, SP UGBO IRENE, on Thursday, it disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah, has directed an immediate investigation into the matter to uncover the truth and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Police boss  also called on  those involved in the hospitality industry, to be vigilant and take proactive measures in profiling and conducting background checks on their guests to prevent such incidents from occurring within their premises.

“The Cross River State Police Command wishes to address the recent viral video circulating on social media, which depicts a girl, identified as Miss Queen, being subjected to physical assault by a group of girls while in a hotel room. The girl, visibly half-naked in the video, is being flogged for reasons that are currently under investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah, PSC, FCAI, has directed an immediate and thorough investigation into the matter. The aim is to uncover the circumstances surrounding this disturbing incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.

“The Commissioner of Police also calls upon all those involved in the hospitality industry to be vigilant and take proactive measures in profiling and conducting background checks on their guests. This step is crucial in preventing such disturbing incidents from occurring within their premises.

“In the meantime, the victim has been provided with the necessary medical attention and is receiving care at a hospital.

“The Cross River State Police Command assures the public that the outcome of the investigation will be communicated promptly. We remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and upholding justice in our society.”- It reads

Our correspondent gathered that Miss Queen was physically assaulted by a group of females led by one Evelyn Duke, at an undiclosed hotel in Calabar.

It was further learnt that Evelyn had accused Queen of having relationship affairs with her boyfriend.
