The Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu has received a prestigious award for the “Best Security Conscious Governor of the Year 2024”.

This was disclosed by Matthew Okache,(anipr) the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Cross River State House of assembly.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Governor, at a Security Conference and Awards ceremony organized by the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS), held on Saturday at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert, expressed gratitude to the organizers for recognizing the Governor’s efforts in ensuring the safety of citizens and properties in Cross River State.

Ayambem also reaffirmed the Governor Otu administration’s commitment to implementing strong security measures to maintain peace and stability in the state.

Governor Bassey Otu was honored
According to Dr. Tony Ofoyetan, the Director-General of the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS), in recognition of the governor’s outstanding contributions to enhancing security across the state.

The Director General lauded Governor Otu’s administration for its innovative and proactive approaches to security, particularly in addressing communal conflicts, curbing crime rates, and fostering peace in Cross River State.

The member of the Cross River State House of Assembly representing Yala 1, Hon. Brian Odey, expressed his pride in the award, stating that it was a testament to the state’s leadership’s collaborative efforts in prioritizing its people’s welfare and security.

In solidarity with the Cross River State Governor, Mr. Frank Ekpo, DG of the State Electrification Agency, Mr. Wonor Austin Ibu, Special Adviser on Security Surveillance, Mr. Ekeng Henshaw, Special Adviser on Forensic/Intelligence, and others attended the event.
