The First Lady of Cross River State, Mrs Eyoawan Bassey Otu is expected to attend the forthcoming Bakkasi Fishing Festival in Bakassi Local Government Area of the state.

The festival, which is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage and fishing traditions of the Bakassi people, promises to be a spectacular event that will showcase the best of the state’s aquatic resources and cultural diversity.

According to the organizers of the festival Frank-Edima Essien, Mrs Eyoawan attendance is crucial to the state government’s commitment to promoting the cultural and economic development of the Bakassi people.

The Bakkasi Fishing Festival is scheduled to take place on 4th to 6th December 2024, at the Bakassi Local Government area. The event will feature a fishing competition, cultural performances, and an exhibition of local aquatic products.

The festival is expected to attract visitors from within and outside the state, and will provide a platform for the Bakassi people to showcase their rich cultural heritage and traditions.
