The firm commitment of Hon. Eyo Bassey, the Member representing Bakassi State Constituency, has garnered praise from constituents and residents alike. Since assuming public office, Hon. Bassey has been a driving force behind empowerment initiatives in Bakassi. Recently, during a town hall meeting held in Bakassi, community members had the opportunity to express their appreciation.

The town hall meeting, aptly named ‘My Constituents and I,’ provided a platform for direct interaction between Hon. Bassey and Bakassi residents. Attendees shared their concerns, needs, and challenges faced by the typical Bakassi youth. Hon. Bassey listened attentively, recognizing the unique circumstances of the Bakassi people.

The Bakassi constituency has encountered numerous challenges, particularly stemming from the unfortunate territorial ceding. Hon. Bassey acknowledged these difficulties and pledged to collaborate with government agencies, private sectors, and individuals to ensure the success of the empowerment structure. His vision extends beyond mere rhetoric; he is actively working to transform Bakassi’s prospects.

At this gathering, Hon. Bassey unveiled the ‘Bakassi Youths Empowerment Structure’, a strategic framework designed to address the specific needs of Bakassi’s young population. His commitment to proffering solutions was evident as he outlined targeted empowerment programs. These initiatives aim to uplift and empower Bakassi youths, fostering growth and development. “Our youth deserve access to education, skills, and opportunities that will transform their lives,” he said.

In recognition of his tireless efforts, constituents affectionately refer to Hon. Bassey as the ‘Empowerment Chairman.’ His initiatives have resonated with the community, providing hope and practical support for Bakassi’s youth. Comrade Leo Ita, the Youth Parliament Representative for Bakassi, encouraged young people to embrace new opportunities and acquire valuable skills

The Community Relations Officer, Nkese Ita, also lauded Hon. Bassey’s efforts, encouraging him to continue championing development initiatives that alleviate hunger and address pressing issues faced by the community.
