So many businesses in Nigeria can attain the height of other global brands if only the business leaders know how to tell brand stories.
Recently, Veekee James, a Nigerian fashion designer was featured on CNN, an international TV station. She shared her ‘grass to grace’ story which got the fashion guru’s brand into the global space through that singular story.
Brand storytelling is a great way to connect with clients/customers and build loyalty.
Apple knows this. Google is a great example. Spotify, Coca-Cola, AirBnB and several other global brand knows this, and use it as a great advantage to get their next loyal users.
These stories don’t have to be long, dramatic or or epic, but they should be authentic and human.
It could be the founder’s story, discovery story, patronage story, location story, stories from challenges surrounding the product of service, etc.
The idea is to keep it real and human.
With the right narrative, Nigerian businesses can tell their audience why they should care about their brand, give them a reason to engage with them, and help differentiate their business from other options.
