The Chairman of the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) Assoc Prof. Mike Ushie has resigned.
This was contained in a resignation letter, obtained by Street news on Wednesday, directed through the secretary to the State Government, Prof Anthony Owan Enoh to the Governor of Cross River State Senator Prince Bassey Otu.
The decision, Prof Ushie noted, is to allow him return to the university for further academic research work. He also appreciated the Governor and the people of the state for the privilege to serve especially in delivering a peaceful Local Government Council election in 2020.
“I write to resign my appointment as Chairman of the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) . This decision is to enable me return to the university for further research work having served for over six years in that capacity.
” May I use this opportunity to thank the governor and people of Cross River State for the privilege to serve especially in delivering a peaceful Local Government Council election in 2020, the first post covid-9 decision in Nigeria with hundred percent complaince with international safety protocols”.-It reads.
