In optimum compliance with the global best practices that determines the attainment of success in event planning, Bakassi International Fish Festival Board of Trustees has been meritoriously constituted.
The BoT formation resulted from concerted intentions to expand the National and International frontiers of the Bakassi Fish Festival Brand.
The following prominent personalities made the list ; Hon. Ani Esin – Chairman, Elder Bassey Offiong, Chief Christopher Okokon, Mr Essien Kenneth, Engr Eyo Ita, H/H Chief Antigha Cobham, Rt Hon. Ekpo Ekpo, Comrade Akwa Edet, Frank Edima and Rev. David Owo – Secretary.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the Board in Calabar, the Chairman, Hon. Ani Esin harped on the sentiment that the Board does not accord relevance to political party affiliation, religious inclination or geographical placement but welcomes optimism, professionalism, passion, alacrity and consistency to drive the Festival to an enviable pedestal.
On her part, the Vision bearer and Coordinator of the Bakassi International Fish Festival, Frank Edima lauded the composure of the BoT Members. She reeled out the gains and pains of the Festival so far recorded with an emphasis on her optimism that “Bakassi International Fish Festival is not her pet project but a Community-based project that will transcend generations”.
The Bakassi International Fish Festival is an annual sociocultural event that is primed to promote the unique culture of the Bakassi people. The 2023 edition witnessed participants from two foreign countries, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. However, with the formation of a BoT and early startups, we should be anticipating a mouthwatering edition this year.
