The Management of Babcock University has been thrown into mourning over the murder of Professor Yinka Olomojobi, a Law Lecturer with the university. This was contained in a statement released by the communication unit of the university and signed by its Director, Dr. Joshua Suleiman.
The statement partly reads, “The Babcock University administration regrets to announce the loss of Professor Yinka Olomojobi, a professor of human rights law and gender law to suspected kidnappers. The tragic incidents occurred in Iperu Town between 8pm and 9pm last Friday, April 19, 2024 along Iperu-Sagamu road 8km away from Ilishan-Remo campuss and 3km away from ipero campus of Babcock University Ogun state. This came as a rude shock to the entire University community which has been thrown into morning”
“The Nigeria police force is investigating the acts of utmost savagery by the suspected kidnappers. Law enforcement agencies in conjunction with the Ogun state government are reportedly on the trail of the perpetrators and more men and women of the security agencies have been deployed to ensure the maximum safety of lives and property in the entire axis of the states,: it added.
Olomojobi began his career in Babcock University on April 1, 2011 after his doctoral degree Lancaster University, England.
The university has also assured all our stakeholders, students, parents host community, faculty and staff of collaborating with all government security and local vigilance agencies ensure the maximum protection of lives and property within and around the university environment.
