According to the statement, the closure directive was issued by the Acting National Chairman of the party,  Bukar Dalori. The secretariats are expected to remain closed from Monday, July 14, and will reopen on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

“We urge Party faithful to use this period of national mourning for quiet reflection and prayers for the repose of the soul of our departed leader,” the statement read in part.

The APC described Buhari as a towering figure in Nigeria’s democratic journey, whose leadership and legacy would be remembered for years to come.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who served two terms in office from 2015 to 2023, was widely known for his strong stance on anti-corruption and efforts at improving infrastructure and national security.

His passing has drawn condolences from across political divides and international communities, with tributes pouring in to honour his service to the nation.

Further announcements regarding national tributes and funeral arrangements are expected in the coming days.
