In a public announcement released from the Government House in Owerri on Monday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Monitoring and Compliance, Chinasa Nwaneri, emphasized that all documents, offer letters, or allocations connected to these areas were fraudulently backdated and are considered fake.

“The general public is hereby notified that land allocations and offer letters issued in this regard were fraudulently backdated and remain fake. Anyone who deals or transacts on the layouts does so at his own peril.”- Nwaneri stated.

He further warned that the state government would not hesitate to take strong legal action against any individual or group found conducting activities within the affected areas.

“The state government shall henceforth deal decisively with anyone or group of persons seen conducting any activity within the area,” he said. “The full weight of the law will be brought upon that person or persons.”

The government urged residents, land agents, and prospective buyers to exercise caution and verify any land-related documents through appropriate and authorized government channels.
