The Cross River State Chapter Of Labour Party, has suspended Mr Ogar Osim as its State Party Chairman, and Mr Felix Etim as secretary.
In a letter dated 23rd of July 2024, issued on Wednesday jointly signed by Bonny Adie, Chairman of the State Disciplinary Committee, and Ibiang Igri State Disciplinary Committee Secretary, it noted that the suspension is linked to gross misconduct, anti-party activities, embezzlement, and other serious activities.
The party also appointed Mr Eugene Bessong Obia as the new acting state chairman and Mr.Allen Ene Ekpe as state secretary.
“This letter serves to inform your organization and the general public of the suspension of Mr Ogar Osim from his position as State Chairman of the Labour Party and Mr.Felix Etim from his position as State Secretary, effective immediately.
“The decision is based on allegations of gross misconduct, anti-party Activities, inability to maintain a state Secretariat, embezzlement, and other serious issues.
“Accordingly the party has unanimously appointed Mr. Eugene Bessong Obia as the new Acting State Chairman and Mr. Allen Ene Ekpe as the new Acting State Secretary, effective immediately pending a State congress to elect a substantive state Chairman and secretary” -It reads in part.
