The Nigerian Army has destroyed a training camping, belonging to the outlawed indigenous People Of Biafra and its Eastern Security Network in Aba, the Abia State Capital.
This was contained in a statement posted on Facebook, on Thursday.
According to the statement, the troops were acting in collaboration with “Task Force Patrol squad, while raiding the camp in Ihechiowa community Arochukwu Local Government area on Wednesday

“During the operation, troops successfully infiltrated and dismantled the camp, destroying all training apparatus and facilities found on-site.
“The raid marks a critical move in the ongoing efforts to curb acts of terrorism by IPOB and ESN, which have been linked to various security challenges and violence unleashed on innocent citizens as well as security operatives in the state.
“During the clearance operations, the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 rifle magazine, five locally fabricated single-barrel guns, and one locally made pistol. Other items recovered from the bandits include 18 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition and 24 live cartridges.”
In a recent developments, troops alongside other security forces have cleared hideouts used by bandits and criminals in Ondo State.
The operation took place around Irele, Igbobini, and Segbemi Kiribo in the general area of Ese-Odo forest, Irele Local Government Area.
The raid is coming days, after troops of operations Udo KA, had conducted a clearance operation, and neutralization of 6 members of the Proscribed Indigenous people of Biafra, at Igboro Forest In Abia state.
The Nigerian Military had vowed to retaliate the killing of five soldiers in Aba, Abia State capital on Wednesday, at a checkpoint by the Proscribed Independent People Of Biafra, (IPOB).
The high military command, through a statement released on Friday in Abuja, by the director of defence Media Operations Major General Edward Buba, noted that the troops of Operation UDO KA stationed at Obikabia Junction Checkpoint in Obingwa Local Government Area, near Abaz were ambushed and tragically killed by IPOB/ESN terrorists.
The soldiers, he noted, were deployed to maintain peace and safeguard citizens, and were unexpectedly attacked by terrorists in three tinted Prado Toyota SUVs and others from surrounding built-up areas.
The Director had stressed the necessity of military retaliation against such attacks, underscoring the military’s determination to apply strong military force to ensure the group’s complete defeat.
