Despite being a trade union and advocacy group, the Cross River State chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), finally gets a female chairman for the first time since 1955, when it was founded.
The new Chairman, Mrs Archie Eso, emerged after a consensus at the press centre in Calabar on Thursday, May 9, 2024. She takes over from the immediate past Chairman, Mr. Nsa Gill, who was recently appointed Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu.
Until her emergence as NUJ Chairman, Eso has been an active member of the union and plays her role effectively as Assistant Manager, News, NTA, Calabar.
