A teenager has allegedly butchered a two year old boy in a community in Bakassi. The video of a two year old boy found dead in a laundry shop in Ikang Town of Bakassi LGA has emerged online.

The gory video shows the dead boy with internal organs already harvested.

Efforts to get the suspect to speak on this matter have caused uproar in the community, an eye witness noted.

According to eye witnesses, the suspect is a neighbor to the mother of the two year old boy. Narrating what happened, an eye witness who pleaded anonymous said ‘The mother of the two years old boy usually drops off her son in the laundry shop where her son was murdered. Every market day (Monday and Friday) she takes the boy to her neighbor’s laundry shop so she can go to the market for her business. But on this sad day, she came back to pick up her son but she couldn’t find him. She asked people around but no one seemed to answer her. So she went to the laundry shop, scattered the piled up cloths only to find her son lying lifeless and with blood everywhere’

The eye witness said that the woman’s scream invited community members to the laundry shop where many eyes saw the ugly scene.

According to another witness at the scene, ‘I saw a knife close to the piles of cloths. It looks like what was used to kill the child.’

Another eye witness said that ‘people started looking for the owner of the shop and that was how they found the suspected teenage murderer who was already trying to escape. If you look that boy well, the boy organs no complete.’

‘Members of the community caught him and  started beating him up’ he continued.

After several  hours of torture and beatings, the suspected teenager refused to speak up. He has been handed over to the police who promised detailed follow up.

‘The police and army came to the scene. So we have handed him over to the security agencies but we will follow up on this matter so that things like this don’t happen in our community again’ he concluded.

The DPO of Police, Bakassi Division, has confirmed the situation and has said that a team of police detectives from the division were dispatched to the scene where the suspect was arrested, and the corpse removed for police investigation.

StreetNews authoritatively reports that this sad event occurred on Friday, April 26 at about 2pm.
