Nigerian officials of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), have stormed the Chinese supermarket in Abuja over reports of discrimination against nigerians. Reports have had it that the Chinese supermarket only gices access to Chinese customers, while nigerioans are not allowed entry.  The management has since come under fire for denying Nigerians entry into the facility located within the China General Chamber of Commerce compound in Abuja.

The facility manager, Shaibu Sanusi, revealed that Nigerians from outside the complex were barred from shopping, but those within the complex could access it. Close source report has it that the owner of the supermarket, a Chinese lady named Cindy Liu Bei, fled the premises when the FCCPC officials arrived on Monday at 8:26 am. This report was also confirmed by Closed-Circuit Television footage. Consequently, the FCCPC officials interrogated Nigerian workers at the supermarket, which resulted in further shut down of the supermarket.
